Card game or treasure hunt? Go Find It cards are a simple but fun activity for children and adults to enjoy. They can be used here, there and well, basically everywhere. There are 32 uniquely designed cards which come in their own little drawstring bag. Each one demonstrates a different sensation or sensory characteristic from nature. The cards not only add a new twist to the traditional scavenger hunt but they also help develop word recognition and language development through play.
We started our game by dividing out the cards evenly amongst our adventurers. The children then headed out to collect items which matched their card. They matched up colours, textures, sizes and shapes, bringing their finds back to camp. One by one the children held up their card and then showed their matching discovery found in nature.
Created by the Sensory Trust, all proceeds from the sale of Go Find It cards and the follow up game of Go Find It Too are used to support their work, helping them connect people of all ages and abilities with natural places and spaces.
