My Hopyard Wood Ethos
Where wild hearts are nurtured, grief is held, and healing begins in nature

I believe that nature holds the power to teach, to soothe, and to transform—no matter your age or stage of life.

Rooted in the principles of Forest School and grounded in compassion, the experiences I offer at Hopyard Wood are designed to support the whole person: body, mind and soul. Whether it’s a muddy-faced child discovering the joy of their first fire-lighting, a woman reconnecting with her inner wisdom in circle, or a grieving heart finding peace among the trees, everything I share is crafted with care, presence and purpose.

As a trained Forest School Practitioner and wellness guide, I blend traditional outdoor skills with soulful nurturing, emotional safety, and playful curiosity. I encourage children to take risks, explore, collaborate and rest—helping them grow in confidence, empathy, and a deep connection to the natural world. Our time together isn’t just about learning new things, but about remembering who we truly are.

But Hopyard Wood has grown into more than just a space for children. Through women’s circles, ceremonies, and grief coaching under the name JARIC Rising, I now hold sacred space for adults too—especially those moving through life’s tender thresholds. I honour all forms of loss—death, divorce, identity shifts, endings of any kind—and I walk gently beside those who are grieving, healing or simply seeking.

My ethos is simple:
Nature is the teacher.
Healing is found in presence, play and community.
Ceremony creates space for transformation.
Grief deserves ritual, reverence, and radical love.

To me, Hopyard Wood is a place where magic is found in the everyday. A place where little hands learn to whittle and weave, and grown-up hearts learn to soften and breathe. It’s a space of bonding, belonging and becoming—where both children and adults are gently reminded: you are already enough, just as you are.
